Update 7/1/2021** This project is currently being placed on hold until further notice.

If you travel on I-35W north of downtown or use the Trinity Trails east of downtown, you may notice the Trinity River’s water level may look lower than normal over the next few weeks. That’s because our operations team will be doing some preventative maintenance at the 4th Street low water dam near Top Golf. This work is part of our regular duties as the sponsor of the 27-mile federal floodway, and vital to the floodway system working like it should during heavy rain events.

Work began on May 10, but due to the significant amount of rainfall recently, work has been delayed to June 1. During this time, the 4th Street low water crossing will be closed to trail users Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
